The Board of Directors for GADRI was elected from 10 countries across the world on 2 Decmeber 2015. The members institutions consists of 3 institutions from Europe and Africa; 4 institutions from Asia and Oceania; and 3 institutions from the Americas. Disaster Prevention Research Institute, Kyoto University, the host of GADRI, remains a permanent member of the board.
