The First Meeting of the Board of Directors was held at the Disaster Prevention Research Institute (DPRI), Kyoto University, Uji Campus, Japan on 22 March 2016.

The Board of Directors (BoD) serves as the governing body of the Global Alliance of Disaster Research Institutes (GADRI). The Board consists of 10 appointed member institutions. Disaster Prevention Research Institute (DPRI), Kyoto University hosting the GADRI Secretariat serves as a permanent member of the Board.
