The 6th Global Summit of GADRI will be organised at the Disaster Prevention Research Institute (DPRI), Kyoto University, Uji Campus, Kyoto, Japan from 15th t 17 March 2023.
Structure of the Summit:
The 6th Global Summit of GADRI will consist of plenary sessions, panel group discussions, poster presentation with GADRI Scholarships awarded to 15 young professionals up to the age 35, networking with institute session to share seeds and needs of institutions, presentation sessions of outcomes of the panel group discussion sessions, and a wrap-up session to develop the final outcomes of the conference.
There will be two field excursions to the DPRI, Kyoto University Ujigawa Laboratory, and the Amagase Dam. Registration is required for participation.
Target Audience:
We encourage our member institutes to take this opportunity participate and share their progress and achievements in DRR. We all those who are actively engaged in DRR activities and other integrated and interdisciplinary research, young scientists, science-policy brokers, and policy makers to make use of this opportunity to engage in discussion and share their experiences and contributions to disaster risk reduction and resilience to disasters.

6th Global Summit of GADRI:
Towards GADRI Objectives of Achieving a Sustainable Disaster-Resilient World
The prolonged worldwide pandemic and cascading risks have taught us that the conventional approach to disaster risk planning and management is ineffective for the development of sustainable and resilient communities. A worldwide pandemic underscores the importance of integrating the following key areas: -
Towards a sustainable and resilient society, the GADRI's five-fold objectives, which include establishing global research networks, developing research roadmaps and plans, building the capacities of research institutes, sharing information and engaging in collaborative research, and advocating for organizations, need to be directed toward the above-mentioned three key areas for integration in research and development.
The 6th GADRI Global Summit aims to systematically identify the processes, techniques, evidence, challenges and opportunities for achieving the GADRI objectives for a sustainable and resilient society against hazards and working to keep them from becoming disasters. Program participants will communicate academic science across scientific disciplines to policymakers and practitioners.
